Dihexa is a small synthetic peptide, N-hexanoic-Tyr-Ile-(6)-aminohexanoic amide, structurally derived from angiotensin IV and modified at both termini with lipophilic hexanoic groups.

DihexaNeuropeptides

Overview

Dihexa (N-hexanoic-Tyr-Ile-(6)-aminohexanoic amide) is a synthetic peptide derived from angiotensin IV, a hexapeptide fragment of the renin-angiotensin system. Its N-terminal hexanoic acid and C-terminal aminohexanoic amide raise the lipophilicity of the molecule relative to the parent fragment and reduce its susceptibility to aminopeptidase and carboxypeptidase cleavage.

In cell-based assays Dihexa interacts with the hepatocyte growth factor / c-Met receptor system, binding HGF and potentiating c-Met receptor tyrosine kinase autophosphorylation and downstream signaling. The peptide is supplied as a lyophilized powder in a 10 mg vial.

Mechanism of Action

Dihexa binds hepatocyte growth factor and potentiates activation of the c-Met receptor tyrosine kinase, increasing receptor autophosphorylation and downstream signaling in cultured cells.
