GHK-CuMatrix & Growth-Factor Peptides

Overview

GHK-Cu is the coordination complex formed between the tripeptide glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine and a copper(II) ion. The glycine amino nitrogen, the deprotonated peptide nitrogen, and the histidine imidazole nitrogen form the donor set that coordinates the metal in a square-planar arrangement. The free tripeptide has a molecular weight of approximately 340 Da.

In cultured fibroblasts the complex alters transcript levels of genes including VEGF, BDNF, and BMP-2, and its chelating behavior shifts copper-dependent redox chemistry. Supplied as 50 mg of lyophilized peptide per vial.

Mechanism of Action

Chelates copper(II) through glycine amino, peptide, and histidine imidazole nitrogen donors. In cultured fibroblasts the complex alters transcript levels of genes including VEGF, BDNF, and BMP-2.
